Supervision isn’t just a requirement—it’s a clinical intervention that can shape outcomes, prevent burnout, and ensure ethical, competent care. In this course, the gold standard of clinical supervision: the Competency-Based Clinical Supervision model will be reviewed. Designed for clinical supervisors who want real tools, not just theory, this course covers how to conduct supervision that’s developmentally attuned, culturally responsive, and outcome-driven. You’ll learn how to give meaningful feedback, use supervision contracts effectively, and guide supervisees using validated competency benchmarks. Whether you're supervising pre-licensed clinicians, trainees, or seasoned professionals, this course gives you a blueprint for effective, ethical supervision that improves both clinician growth and client care.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the three competency domains for supervisees: Intervention Skills, Assessment & Case Conceptualization, and Relational & Reflective Skills.
- Utilize competency-based evaluations and feedback tools with supervisees.
- Apply the S.T.A.R.T. feedback model when providing feedback to supervisees.
- Develop a supervisory contract.
